JulieG Shark’s Cove (+ a Chanel inspired spring manicure)

JulieG Shark's CoveIt’s no secret that I’m a little bit of a JulieG fan girl. I’ve had incredibly good luck with the line plus the bottles are super cute! When I heard that 27 new polishes were being added to the permanent line in 2013 I was pretty excited.  The promo image for Shark’s Cove was gorgeous. So when I spotted to new polishes in the JulieG display at my local Rite Aid I was glad to see that Shark’s Cove looked as gorgeous in person as it did in the promo images.

Shark’s Cove is a gorgeous muted green leaning aqua with iridescent glass fleck shimmer (very similar to Orly Pixie Dust). Once I had this polish on my nails it immediately reminded me of Lake Constance. The water had a green color to it that was so unique.

The formula is on the thin side but buildable. I used 4 thin coats in my swatches. I do think this would work as a top coat. That is on my list of things to try!

This polish wore very well but when I started to notice some tip wear I didn’t want to completely redo my nails. Instead I did yet another Chanel inspired manicure. This time using China Glaze Mimosa’s Before Mani’s. It was a particularly dreary day here in Charlotte so my spring manicure was a nice contrast to the weather.

Below the jump there are more swatches of Shark’s Cove along with my modified Chanel inspired manicure.

I have quite a few of the new JulieG polishes to try out. Can’t wait to share them with you!
