Every time I swear off Spoiled as a brand I somehow find my way back to it. This time I blame black glitter. Yes, black glitter. I have a thing for black glitter and there’s really not much of it in the nail polish world. The only other black glitter I have in my collection is wet n wild Tangled in My Web and that was a limited edition polish from 2011. So, to say the least, when I saw Trust Fund Baby in the bottle I was basically sold.
In the past my main issue with Spoiled has been the inconsistency in the brushes. Some of the are completely find. Some of them are absolutely terrible. I figured with a glitter polish that wouldn’t much matter.
Trust Fund Baby contains chunky blue, black and gold hexagon glitter as well as square magenta glitter suspended in a clear base. The combination is just genius and one I’ve never seen before.
This is not a glitter that can be worn on its own. I used it over OPI Can’t Find my Czechbook. It took 3 coats to get an acceptable amount of glitter on the nail.
I tried using Trust Fund Baby again, this time over China Glaze Fancy Pants. I just did an accent nail again 3 coats. I liked the result but still wasn’t entirely pleased with the glitter placement.
To remedy this situation I manually placed the glitter on my nail using a toothpick. I know it sounds kind of crazy but it doesn’t take that long and I did a glitter fade on just one nail over NCLA AM: Beauty Sleep, PM: Shopping Spree. The end result was awesome.
I realize manually placing glitter may be more work than some people want to do but it was worth it in the end in my opinion. There are swatches of all my Trust Fund Baby adventures below the jump.
