OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight

OPI Lincoln Park at MidnightSometimes I really worry about how much time I spend thinking about nail polish.

This manicure is a product of me and the boy seeing Lincoln over the New Year holiday. In my not very expert movie opinion I found the movie to be slow and really quite boring, though the cinematography, costumes and makeup were amazing (am I the only one!?). My mind kept wondering to nail polish. Specifically this nail polish. As soon as I got a chance to change my nail polish I went looking for this polish!

It’s been well over a year since I wore Lincoln Park at Midnight (under Orly Fowl Play). I completely forgot how amazing it is! (And am still worried that my bottle is looking so empty!)

Lincoln Park at Midnight is a blackened red leaning purple with very subtle shimmer that applied beautifully in two coats.

Admittedly in most lights this does appear to be basically black though I do still contend it looks slightly less harsh than black! But in the sun this polish comes alive.

I have to wonder what my next movie inspired manicure is going to be. Before this it was OPI Hoodoo Voodoo?! (courtesy of The Skeleton Key).

Make sure to check out the swatches below the jump! (The MACRO shot really shows off the shimmer!)

  1. I love this shade and it’s “sister” Lincoln Park After Dark. They are my favorite professional shades. Beautiful swatches! It’s fun to see classic shades. There is just something about a rich dark color… I love matching colors to movies ( Like my Skyfall Collection trigger mani to see Skyfall)! Glad to know I am not the only one who does this..lol

    1. I just love matching nail polish to things in my life. Even if I’m the only one that knows about it!

I, too, enjoy the classic shades. They don’t get enough love in the nail community 🙂

  2. I worry the exact same thing! Which means that I spend 50% think about polish and 25% of the time worrying about thinking about it! Which leaves very little time to think about the ‘important’ things in life! But hey, polish makes me happy!!!!

  3. I worry that too. I’m a little embarrassed at how much time I spend on the Internet doing something related to polish. 90% of the time or so that my husband looks at my computer screen…there’s polish. It’s gotten to the point that it doesn’t surprise him in the slightest. So don’t feel bad! You’re amongst friends 🙂
