wet n wild megalast I Red a Good Book

With the changing of the seasons we’ve been doing alot of talking about nail polish trends for fall 2012 around here. As much as I love trends there is something so chic about a classic red manicure and it never goes out of style. I have quite a few red polishes in my collection that fall in that classic red category but I’m always looking for that inexpensive perfect red that will work on literally everyone’s skintone has a good formula and wears well. I may just have found that polish.

I Red a Good Book is a neutral red creme that falls ever so slightly into the dark red category. I love this kind of color for fall and winter though it really is a year around appropriate red.

The formula is wonderful. I used just two coats in my swatches. I’m a huge fan of the brushes from the megalast line. They’re wide and make applying polish easy. For several pictures of the brush check out my post on I Need a Refresh-Mint.

In my post on 5 polishes every girl should own I talked about how difficult it can be to find an appropriate red polish for any given skintone. It really is just like finding the perfect red lipstick. What’s great about I Red a Good Book is that it’s a neutral red. There’s no need to worry about whether it has yellow or blue undertones. No matter your skintone this red will work. I promise!

If you are looking for a slightly more pink neutral red wet n wild has a good option for that as well from their Wild Shine line. You can check that out here.

As always, there are more swatches below the jump.

I’ve become a HUGE fan of the wet n wild megalast line. If you have any favorites I should try let me know!

  1. Gr 8 shade – we so rarely have Wet N Wild anything anymore here. They pulled out of distributing to a lot of places in the US when the economy got tight – odd as it was so the go to cheaper line for drug stores that every HS gal would gather up. All their makeup lines did really well in terms of they were cleaned out fast. I heard that W n W also had vanished from Floria too – wonder if because the economy is (according to some) picked up some – and certainly polish has been really strong selling in the down time and we have seen polish become a true fashion accessory must if maybe that will help this brand put themselves back into wider distribution. Seems odd to visit the drugstore and not see all kinds of W n W make up.

    • I’d be distraught if wnw started disappearing from stores! Not only do I love their nail polishes but I love their eyeshadows, blushes and lip sticks as well!
