petites COLOR FEVER Vintage Gray

Petites COLOR FEVER isn’t a brand I am overly familiar with. The only other polish I’ve tried from this line is Black Diamond, which happens to be one of my favorite black polishes. Being that this is only the second polish I’ve tried from the brand I wasn’t really sure what to expect but my expectations were on the high side since I had such great luck with Black Diamond. Vintage Gray didn’t exactly meet those expectations but I’m not disappointed in this polish either.

Vintage Gray is a light gray creme. There is nothing particularly special about the color but I do think it is lovely! The formula is a bit on the thin side so I did use three coats in my swatches.

Since purchasing Black Diamond the petites COLOR FEVER line changed their bottles. The brush itself didn’t change but the old bottle did have a shorter handle. I like the way the new polish lid feels in my hand and I do think it’s easier to apply. That being said, I think the old bottles were prettier! There are pictures comparing the two below the jump.

As far as I know the only place to purchase this line in stores is at Rite Aid though petites COLOR FEVER is manufactured by CQ cosmetics so they can also be purchased on the CQ website.

There are more swatches plus new and old bottle shots below the jump! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new bottle shape and any of your must have polishes from this brand!

  1. Whoa, I didn’t know they changed the handle. I’ll have them out again. I have Black Diamond as well. It’s the only Color Fever I own because the old handle was so clunky. But I remember the formula being amazing. *runs off to put on BD*

  2. Interesting! I wonder how this compares to the light gray from the new maybelline polishes that I was thinking about getting. I’ve yet to find a light gray polish that doesn’t look lavender on me. I generally just go with Essie’s Power Clutch when I want (dark) gray.

What do you think?
