Nail Art: Crackle Tips

This is kind of a spin off of or twist of my Polka Dot Tips manicure. I was in a similar situation; I was unhappy with my manicure because it had a bit of tip wear but realistically I just didn’t have time to do an entirely new manicure. To remedy that situation I decided to pull out my rarely used OPI White Shatter and create a sort of crackle French manicure…if you will.

The manicure I was previously wearing was Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Coral Fever, which was a limited edition polish from last Summer. Then I just free handed the tips using White Shatter. The great thing about crackle polish is the application does not have to be perfect. So even the fingers where my line was a bit uneven didn’t bother me at all.

I was really unsure of this manicure before I did it but truthfully I ended up liking it alot. And I am really not a fan of crackle nail polish! Of course, the combinations that can be done with this are endless, which is what’s so nice about it.

As always, there are more swatches below the jump. I’d love to know if this is something you like or if you think you might give it a try!

  1. I am not into crackle either, but your mani looks great, I could imagine trying this one too – again, great inspiration 🙂

  2. I’m not really much a crakle person, either! But I did do a similar nail art thing once. I used a white crackle from Color Club to do a French tip, then I did nail stamping using one of the Fing’rs image plates to add a butterfly. This was all done over a light blue base color. In the end, it looked like a butterfly flying in a cloudy sky!

What do you think?
