Never did I think I would be talking about a grocery store haul on my nail polish blog. But I guess stranger things have happened! I’ve been aware of the existence of Chi nail polish for years. As a matter of fact, one of my first ever posts on this blog way back in 2009 was of Chi Hot Ring Illusion Around Saturn (seriously, ignore the swatch!). Anyway, it’s a brand I always had good luck with but often gets overlooked. Before this week the only place I had seen Chi polish was at Ulta.
Several days ago I was at the Harris Teeter (local grocery store) near my boyfriend’s condo and saw an entire bin of Chi polish. Not only was I completely shocked to see Chi polish for sale at a grocery store it was on CRAZY sale! The polishes were priced at $4.99 each BUT they were buy 2 get 3 free. My boyfriend was giving me the “you know you already have way too much nail polish” look so I somehow managed not to take advantage of the amazing offer. That is until I went to the Harris Teeter near my house and they also had Chi polish! I ended up with 4 polishes and a top coat.
Sultry Nights is a deep blue with light blue, almost teal shimmer (check out the macro shot below the jump to really see the shimmer). The color is really pretty and the formula was excellent. I am a habitual 3 coater but I stopped after 2 with this polish.
Chi polish is “ceramic nail lacquer.” According to Chi the polish utilizes CHI44 ceramic to resist chips, silk to provide shine and nano silver to kill bacteria and fungus (ew!). I don’t know about all those claims BUT what I do love about Chi polishes in the rubberized handles.
I’m looking forward to trying the other polish I bought. If you have a Harris Teeter near you check it out and see if they also are carrying Chi polish. I’m curious to know if the stores near me having Chi was a mistake or if they’re going to start carrying it permanently.
