OPI – Mermaid’s Tears

The following situation happens more than I’d like to admit: I see a collection, I don’t really like any of the colors, I swear I won’t buy any, I have a bad day – I buy one… or two or three.

Anyway – that was the case with OPI’s Pirates of the Caribbean Collection – I only wanted Silver Shatter – which of course I got.I looked at the other colors but nothing really seemed unique enough to buy.

But… then yesterday I had a bad day so of course I went to Ulta. I grabbed Mermaid’s Tears and I’m really glad that I did (this is also the common conclusion to aforementioned situation).

It’s a really pretty seafoam green – not too chalky like I think of Southampton Seafoam – just very pretty. I got lots of compliments. It’s a bit dustier than my picture is showing – but only slightly so.  It reminds me a lot of Ancient Jade – which I don’t own, but Alli does.

Anyway, if you don’t have Ancient Jade or something similar I’d say it’s a good buy – if you do though, not really worth it.  It’s certainly a great polish & a welcome addition to my out of control stash.
TGIF!

  1. I can TOTALLY relate to “bad day” polish buying!

For some reason, I’ve never been drawn to Mermaid’s Tears. It’s a pretty color, though. I have Ancient Jade so I think I’ll just stick with that one.

    1. I love bad day polish shopping. Of course.. I also have great day polish shopping and reward polish shopping and…. then there’s just the normal polish buying…

  2. This color kind of reminds me of Sinful Colors Mint Apple. Just something about it.
I really like it though (:

What do you think?
