Essie – Sew Psyched

After a particularly awful week in the fall, Alli sent this to me in the mail. Back story…. I’d gone in search of Essie’ s Fall Collection and the girl at Ulta said they didn’t think they’d get it restocked but they had just restocked their Spring and Summer lines (From 2010) – OH OKAY thanks a lot. So Alli graciously grabbed one and sent it my way.

I’ve tried to photograph this more times than I can count with various problems along the way – no sun, nubby nails, grand canyon-like cuticles…. but finally on Sunday I was about to get an okay picture.

This polish makes me really love Essie. The application is fabulous – two coats and you’re all set. I of course added a coat of Seche Vite to speed things up – but it’s shiny and glossy all on it’s own.

The color is what I love most – it’s a calming & serene for me. Makes me feel a little earthy. The Essie website describes it as “a cashmere-soft sage pewter” and that sounds pretty accurate for me.

I loved it in the fall and I’m absolutely loving it again for spring. If you don’t want to dish out $8 for it you could try Sonia Kashuk’s Fatigued for about $5.00. The PolishAholic did a fabulous review of Fatigued and a comparison post here.  If I was better at doing comparisons and had a bit more in my banking account – I’d have done one for you because I’ve picked up Fatigued many times – always to put it back down – no need for a dupe for me when the Essie is pretty perfect.

So how much do I love Sew Psyched? It pretty much stays in my basket all the time – unless I have a decent sized haul – it’s one of my go-to’s when I don’t know what to choose. Five stars. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

Reminder: if you haven’t entered my spring give away…. you have until May 31st at Midnight. Winner to be announced June 1st! 1. I have Fatigued & Sew Psyched, but I have yet to wear them. Your swatches of both polishes look so great, you’re going to make me dig them out!

    1. It’s definitely made it’s way into my Top 5 Essie polishes – and you really can wear it anytime. I wore it plenty of times over the winter. Absolutely love it for Spring & Fall – I usually prefer more vibrant colors for summer, but this will stay in rotation 🙂
