I bought Hyper Haute (and Gamer Glam) two weeks ago at Sally’s. First thing I did when I got home was put on Hyper Haute – but of course as luck would have it there was a long streak of cloudy and rainy days.
My first impression of this was… ehh. The holo effect doesn’t show up indoors and it’s not as strong in direct sunlight as Gamer Glam. However, once I was blessed with a sunny day it really came to life! You can see the scattered holo that creates a linear look – which I love. The color is right up my ally – bright magenta pink perfection.
The application was ace – two smooth coats was all I needed. If you like hot pink and you like holo – you won’t be disappointed (unless it’s cloudy).
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! You can see below for my St. Patrick’s Day Mani Tragedy 🙂
Ohh did you notice that? I switched it up – put my picture on the right. ANYWAY…. For my St Patrick’s day look I went with OPI’s Jade is the New Black as a base and put Sinful Colors – Green Ocean on top. I ended up messing up the middle finger on my right hand and decided to paint that OPI – Gift of Gold (a sassy yet useful “pot of gold” on my middle finger….)
Anyway – it looked great last night! I did 2 coats of Jade and 1 of Green Ocean – followed by a coat of Seche Vite.
I took a poor quality picture last night so I could show Alli:
See what I mean? Pretty! So then… Today I go to work and I look down at my nails and I have… holes! Like swiss cheese flakey shaped holes in my nail polish – somehow Green Ocean chipped or ate through Jade… I don’t even know…
I’ve never had this problem with Green Ocean – which I love by the way – it’s part of the Sinful Colors St. Patrick’s Day display with a horrid neon-ish Green that I have refused to take out of my drawer since. You can find Green Ocean (and it’s not worthy of being named partner) at Walgreens for 1.99 – definitely worth it and SO pretty.
So that’s my disappointing St. Patrick’s Day mani for 2011. I’d love to hear what you all wore!
