OPI – Call my Cell-ery (over Spring Green)

OPI’s Call my Cell-ery from OPI’s 2006 Fall Brights collection (Loving this OPI database!) was one of my very early nail polish buys – and it was a huge disappointment at the time. It is absolutely stunning in the bottle but goes on VERY sheer. It’s lots of green/gold/yellow shimmer in a sheer green base. To be honest, it looked so awful when I put it on all those years ago, I hadn’t touched it since.

When I posted this picture of my stash from 2008, Alli demanded I swatch it. Still no good – so I layered it over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Spring Green – I LOVE IT. It’s just the right amount of shimmer and it pairs perfectly with Spring Green.  I apologize for the quality of these pictures – I am planning to buy a new camera soon – with macro capabilities. I was able to pick up the shimmer though, ever so slightly – it’s really pretty. I love this combination. So… all in all it’s a great layering polish, but otherwise it’s no good.

Hope everyone is having a great week 🙂

  1. Just got a manicure today and wanted to try something TOTALLY different! I don’t like green as a general rule, it just looks horrible on me. I saw Call My Cell-ery in the bottle and FELL.IN.LOVE. Well, the love dissipated after a few seconds when I noticed how sheer and ugly it was. The nail tech suggested she layer over OPI Green-wich Village and VOILA I am in love again.
Green-wich Village alone looks like slime or some ugly frog color BUT layered with the sparkle of Call My Cell-ery…GENIUS.

What do you think?
