Water Marbling with Essie Splash of Grenadine

It seems like Saturday is turning into water marble post day. This weeks water marble wasn’t near as successful as last weeks water marble with Essie Turquoise & Caicos. My base polish was (obviously) Essie Splash of Grenadine. My two water marbling colors were OPI Done out in Deco and China Glaze Grape Pop.

Done out in Deco is not a good color to water marble with. The formula is too thin and the color is not opaque enough. So, as you can probably tell from the picture, it just kind of made Splash of Grenadine a but more purple. Grape Pop ended up being a great water marbling polish. It’s thick and opaque.

I didn’t love the way this turned out, especially the designs on my pointer and pinky fingers. But I am getting better at it.

I’m starting to keep a list of good water marbling polishes. If anyone is interested, I can publish as a Google Doc and link it in the side bar.

Happy Weekend!
