Caribbean Coral is from Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Line Spring 2010 release. I picked this up at Wal-Greens back in January and used it for the first time at the end of February. At that time, this color was a little bright; a little too summery. But the weather has gotten (much) warmer so I decided to give this color another go, but this time use a matte top coat.
In my original post about this polish I mentioned the problem with the formula, and that has not changed. This polish is thick and I have a hard time applying it neatly. Much cleanup is required!
Aside from the application issues, I love this color matte. I used my normal base coat, 2 coats of Caribbean Coral then applied Essie Matte About You top coat. Without the matte top coat the color is just a little much against my pale skin. While the matte top coat doesn’t mute the brightness, taking away the shine turns the volume down just enough.
Katie is on her way to visit me right now (with nail polish in tow!). We’re going to have a fun fill weekend of nail polish and basketball 🙂
Enjoy your Saturday!
