Uptown girl is from Color Club’s Spring 2010 Rebel Debutante Collection. I picked up a set of 7 from this collection at Ross (Yes…I actually went to Ross) for $7.99. This color immediately caught my eye, of course. It is purple, after all.
Uptown Girl is a grayed out dusty purple, but it’s not so dusty that’s it’s too Fall. I think this is a great color for Spring.
This was my first experience with a Color Club polish, and to be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed. Granted, I had high expectations, but still.
The formula was really thin. I used three coats and as you can see in the picture, I really should have used four.
I’m hoping maybe I have better luck with other colors from the Rebel Debutante collection. There are some comparisons below the jump.
Happy Hump Day!
In the bottle Color Club Uptown Girl looked so similar to OPI Parlez-vous OPI? but on the nail the look very different. Parlez-vous is darker and has more gray. OPI Done out in Deco and Essie Lilacism both have more white than Parlez-vous OPI? and Uptown Girl.
It’s obvious that none of these are dupes. But really, unless you just love pale purples, you certainly could do with Uptown Girl OR Parlez-vous OPI? and OPI Done out in Deco OR Essie Lilacism. Both OPI’s have an advantage because the formulas are superior to that of Essie or Color Club.
