Holiday in Hollywood. What an amazing collection that was! From 2007, Holiday in Hollywood is by far still my favorite holiday collection by anyone, not just OPI. It contained some amazing polishes, some of my favorites being I’ve “Red” the Script, Who are you Wearing? and My Big Break.
Even back in 2007 Katie and I were nail polish addicts. I picked up Stars in my Eyes because she couldn’t quit raving about it, and I’m glad I did.
Stars in my Eyes is a gorgeous frosted silver packed with microglitter. It has just a bit of purple undertones. It’s a great silver for my skintone (NW15).
I actually decided to use this polish because I kept eyeing Orly Shine from the Foil FX collection. I have Orly Rage from that collection and LOVE it but for some reason could not stop lemming Shine. Then I remembered I had Stars in my Eyes, and using it definitely killed my lemming. Shine has yellow undertones so it would not have been a good color for me (I think I learned my lesson with Maybelline Go Go Green, yuck!).
Stars in my Eyes doesn’t have the bling factor of a foil. It actually dries somewhat dull (strange for an OPI polish). I topped it with Essie Good to Go to get some shine. The formula is very thin. I used 4 (yes, 4!) coats to get an opaque color. But after 4 coats there is no visible nail line. This is also a great polish for layering or to use as a base for glitter polishes (Katie used it under Ulta Starstruck and it looked fabulous).
I just might have to start pulling out some other old OPIs. I get so distracted by new polishes sometimes I forget how amazing some of the older polishes in my collection are 🙂
Enjoy your Sunday!
