SinfulColors Aqua

SinfulColors AquaI picked SinfulColors Aqua up at Rite Aid the same day I got SinfulColors Let’s Talk. Overall, I’m fairly impressed with these polishes. Both colors wore well and the formulas were great.

Aqua is a metallic and frosted bluish-green color (somewhat similar to Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Pro in Marine Blue). I could tell from looking at the bottle this was somewhat metallic. Even though it is a metallic, I didn’t have a problem with it being streaky after the first coat. Along with the metallic look of this polish, it is also heavily frosted.

I did not love this color. I even complained about it on Twitter and told Katie I’d send it to her (which I will probably still do). Even though the color itself was pretty, the metallic with the frost was just too much.

SinfulColors Aqua matteInstead of ditching a perfectly good manicure, I decided to give it a shot with Essie’s Matte About You top coat and I’m glad I did! Adding the matte top coat gave Aqua a satin finish with a glow, for lack of a better word. It really transformed the polish into something I really like.

Surprisingly, even after adding the matte topcoat, this polish wore very well. Usually after adding the matte top coat a polish will chip within a day. Aqua (with the matte topcoat) lasted well over a day without a single chip or tip wear even after wearing it a day prior to adding the matte top coat.

I’m looking forward to trying some other SinfulColors polishes 🙂
