Avon Quick Dry Oil

Avon Nail Experts Quick Dry Oil

I was more than estatic when I finally finished my seemingly endless bottle of OPI Rapidry Spray. Rapidry is one of the worst quick dry products I have ever used. I honestly couldn’t tell a difference when I used it.

I was in search of a new quick dry product and ran across Avon’s Nail Experts Quick Dry Oil in the Avon catalog. It was on sale for $3.99 (compared to OPI Rapidry’s $10+ price tag or Nicole by OPI’s $7.99), so I decided to give it a try. Avon claims that this product dries nails to the  touch in 30 seconds, and dries nails to a completely hard finish in 4 minutes. I am entirely convinced that the former is true, but not the latter.

I have been using this on every manicure (minus matte and suede finish polishes) for about a month. I generally use a base coat, 2 coats of color and a top coat. I wait a minute or 2 before topping my manicure with the quick dry oil. I have never timed it exactly, but in under a minute my nails are dry to the touch. This prevents wrinkling and denting if I hit something lightly with my nails. It also allows me to type without having to worry about messing up my new manicure. Dry to the touch in 30 seconds indeed.

As for Avon’s claim that nails dry to a hard finish in 4 minutes with this product, I am not convinced. I have a habit of doing my nails at night not long before I go to bed. The first time I used this product I went to bed an hour after finishing my manicure. I woke up in the morning with an awful case of bed nails. If I finish my manicure a good 2 hours before I fall asleep, my nails are still perfect in the morning.

Another advantage of this product is the oil is incredibly moisturizing, which is great for cuticles. It also does not alter the appearance of your manicure.

Overall, I think this is a great product. It dries manicures to the touch faster than any other product I have used, and this is generally where I mess up my nails. I have yet to find a product that prevents bed nails any quicker. If you catch a sale, it’s a steal. Even at the regular price of $6, it is worth having around.

Avon. $6.
